Job Purpose
The Operations Analyst supports Herc Rentals' branch and field operations through operational reporting, system support, data management, testing, and process improvement. Working closely with Branch Managers, District Managers, Regional leadership, Fleet, Accounting, and other corporate departments, this role helps maintain critical operational data, supports enterprise systems, and delivers timely solutions to both recurring and ad hoc business needs.
Reporting within the Operations department, the Operations Analyst serves as a trusted resource for operational support, reporting, data governance, and system enhancements. This role is ideal for a highly analytical, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, manages competing priorities effectively, and is passionate about supporting field operations through data-driven solutions.
What you will do...
Operational Data Management, Reporting & Governance
  • Maintain the Cat Class hierarchy by partnering with Fleet, Accounting, and other departments to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance.
  • Develop, maintain, and distribute operational reports used by leadership and key business stakeholders.
  • Support recurring and ad hoc reporting requests through data analysis and SQL-based research.
  • Identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for operational improvement.

Operational Support & Process Improvement
  • Serve as the SME for re-rent operations, providing process support, issue resolution, and continuous improvement recommendations.
  • Support Salesforce initiatives through reporting, communication, training, and operational guidance.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT), validations, and implementation readiness activities in RentalMan and other boundary applications
  • Investigate and assist with system-related issues and support requests from field and corporate teams.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Operations, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of experience in equipment rental, construction, fleet operations, business operations, or a related industry preferred.
  • Experience with SQL and data analysis preferred.
  • Familiarity with RentalMan, Salesforce, or other enterprise systems.
  • Experience supporting process improvement initiatives.
