Operations Analyst

Location: Mont Belvieu, TX 77523

Employment Type: Contract to hire

Schedule: Full-time

Position Overview

We are seeking an Operations Analyst to gather, track, analyze, and report financial, operational, and maintenance data. This individual will transform large amounts of data into meaningful management information to support corporate and field leadership.

The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of financial analysis experience, strong analytical and reporting skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced operational environment. Experience within the midstream energy industry is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze Operations & Maintenance (O&M) budget performance, including actual versus plan and variance explanations.
  • Assist with annual budget preparation using Hyperion.
  • Gather and analyze operational and maintenance data, including system availability, downtime, equipment failures, and employee performance metrics.
  • Track incidents involving safety, environmental, regulatory, and compliance matters.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and optimize spending.
  • Assist with reviewing rate sheets and invoices.
  • Coordinate the integration of engineering redlines into design services and track progress.
  • Monitor and track Management of Change (MOC) activities related to maintenance.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for corporate and field management.
  • Develop charts, graphs, and presentations that convert complex data into useful management information.
  • Support special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of financial analysis experience.
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or equivalent relevant work experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance preferred.
  • Strong ability to interpret, organize, analyze, and present large amounts of data.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including:

  • Ability to quickly learn new applications and systems.
  • Self-driven, proactive, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the midstream energy industry, including gathering and processing, pipelines, fractionation, or storage.
  • Experience with or the ability to quickly learn tools such as:

Additional Requirements

This is a contract position with the possibility of permanent employment. Candidates must:

  • Be eligible to permanently work in the United States.
