What you'll do:

  • Own and strategically lead (as both manager and writer) Gartner's responses to RFPs/RFQs/RFIs issued by a wide range of commercial enterprises as well as some public sector enterprises.
  • Lead meetings with stakeholders, create schedules and drive projects to successful completion, on time and in line with quality standards and stakeholder expectations.
  • Understand the organization structure and develop an excellent understanding of Gartner's product portfolio to be able to inform/shape your strategic guidance and execution.
  • Leverage deep knowledge of products and capabilities to determine formal responses.
  • Analyze RFX requirements against the proposal outline to ensure both compliance and responsiveness to clients' needs and issues, and high quality of all proposals delivered.
  • Identify red flags and issues in the RFX based on an excellent understanding of Gartner's product portfolio and commercial practices.
  • Partner with multiple levels of sales associates and leaders to facilitate the development of the sales strategy as it relates to the deal at hand and write strategic, client-focused proposals.
  • Use product knowledge to support sales in solution definition.
  • Guide sales teams effectively in persuasive proposal writing and proposal best practice.
  • Develop and leverage a deep understanding of the competitive landscape to customize win strategies and collaborate and partner effectively with sales teams to ensure demonstration of Gartner's unique differentiators and a clear, in-depth understanding of Gartner's value and benefits to clients.
  • Customize materials for the greatestcompetitive/differentiatedimpact.
  • Coordinate effectively with sales, contracts, pricing, admin and resources across all Gartner business units and shared services as appropriate, throughout North America, to write winning proposals.
  • Use templates and content designed to promote Gartner brand consistency.
  • Support global corporate proposal initiatives such as the development of content libraries, tools and templates.
  • Other reasonable and normal duties associated with the Proposal Manager position, as directed by manager.

What you'll need:

  • 2+ years of proposal writing, proposal development and/or proposal management experience.
  • Experience working on proposals for the commercial sector. Global and public sector proposal experience also a plus.
  • Experience developing in-depth product knowledge to support solution definition and identify red flags and issues in RFP requirements is critical.
  • Experience in product-based offers or solutions.
  • Experience in end-to-end proposal management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Extremely strong writing skills and very strong spoken and written English.
  • Significant proposal development experience, collaborating with multiple stakeholders through the iteration process.
  • Experience effectively managing multiple conflicting tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, agile and high-stakes environment is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate and influence at multiple levels of seniority/leadership.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office products (especially Word and PowerPoint) and familiarity with Adobe Acrobat/Kofax PowerPDF.
  • Experience and skill in creating PowerPoint-based proposals a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or equivalent required.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 79,000 USD - 109,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
