Job description

Burns is currently seeking a  Proposal Associate to join our Marketing team in our  Philadelphia, PA, New York, NY, Washington, DC or Pittsburgh, PA office.

Summary:

Coordinates and leads team efforts to prepare proposal responses, submissions, presentations and other marketing activities. Coordinate marketing activities related to specific targets or prospects. Maintains photographic, proposal, and firm credential files.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the production of all sizes of proposals, from Statements of Interest to major multi-team and/or multi-discipline proposal efforts.
  • Identify production schedule for all proposals including action items for proposal team members
  • Responsible for using independent judgement to interpret client proposal requirements
  • Maintain proposal progress and data in CRM database
  • Prepare project fact sheets for substantially completed projects
  • Generate and proofread proposal text and maintain high proposal quality
  • Lead proposal team meetings to brainstorm winning strategies and track proposal progress
  • Interpret proposal format requirements and identify and prepare proposal content
  • Participate in shortlist interview presentation creation
  • Participate in discussions on potential teaming partners
  • Work with graphic designers to incorporate graphics, layout formats, and other graphic techniques for easy to read, professional looking documents

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in marketing, communication or related discipline 
    • A minimum of five (5) years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience within an engineering or architectural services firm, focusing on aviation, healthcare, higher education, power & utility, public works, railroad & transit market sectors. The ideal candidate should be familiar with all types of proposal formats and government forms (SF 330,  etc.).
