Job description

Proposal Specialist (Temp-to-Hire)

Salary: $60,000–$65,000

Are you a detail-oriented professional who enjoys bringing together technical, operational, and commercial information to create winning proposals? We're seeking a Proposal Specialist to join a growing, highly regulated manufacturing organization that serves the pharmaceutical, medical device, and consumer products industries.

In this role, you'll manage the proposal process from start to finish, partnering with sales, engineering, operations, procurement, quality, and finance to develop accurate, competitive, and compliant customer proposals. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing project coordination, pricing strategy, and customer service.

What You'll Do:

  • Manage RFQs, RFPs, and customer proposals from initial request through final submission.
  • Review customer specifications and determine project scope.
  • Develop pricing, cost estimates, and commercial proposals that support profitability.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather technical and operational information.
  • Ensure proposals meet quality, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Lead internal proposal reviews and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Track proposal metrics and recommend process improvements.
  • Support strategic bids and collaborate with business development on key opportunities.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in proposal management, estimating, pricing, manufacturing, contract packaging, pharmaceutical, or medical device environments.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures and pricing.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry (FDA, cGMP, ISO, or similar) is a plus.
  • Experience with ERP and CRM systems is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

  • Office-based position with occasional time spent in the production environment.
  • Up to 25% travel may be required.
