Job Overview:
FOCUSPOINT is seeking an experienced Purchasing Assistant for one of our clients. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong attention to detail, and can manage purchasing requests accurately and efficiently.

Please note: This is not a temp-to-perm position. The assignment will end after the contract period.

Shift:
Day shifts – Monday to Friday
7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (8-hour day with a required 30-minute meal break)


Key Responsibilities:

  • Process all assigned special purchase requests accurately and promptly

  • Complete online requisitions for assigned vendors within 24 hours

  • Maintain weekly OREC report

  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies within 48 hours

  • Validate, review, and correct all EDI and fax confirmations

  • Communicate and coordinate with departments regarding purchases

  • Report supplier or customer performance issues per policy

  • Assist Purchasing Manager in optimizing procurement systems

  • Enforce Market Purchasing Policy

  • Maintain expedited (courier) delivery log

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

  • Uphold the organization's Code of Conduct and Mission and Values


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)

  • 1–3 years of purchasing or order entry experience (preferred)
