Job Summary
The Purchasing Assistant supports the Purchasing team by managing day-to-day purchasing activities, processing orders and invoices, maintaining accurate system information, and assisting with overflow work. Reporting to the Director of Purchasing, this position receives guidance on priorities and assignments and works closely with manufacturers and internal teams to ensure orders are processed accurately and efficiently.
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Support the processing and acceptance of drop-shipped invoices.
  • Enter and submit purchase orders in the system.
  • Monitor orders and update the inventory management system.
  • Expedite order processing.
  • Address receiving order errors with manufacturers.
  • Contact manufacturers for pricing and availability.
  • Contribute to maintaining pricing and product descriptions in the system.
  • Adapt to new duties as business needs evolve.

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for operating a computer, keyboard, mouse, telephone, and other office equipment.
  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the office or warehouse environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 5 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to visually review documents, purchase orders, invoices, spreadsheets, and computer screens for accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through electronic communication.
