Job description

Clayton Services is searching for a Purchasing Specialist to join a growing company in Houston. The Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for managing vendor relationships, sourcing materials, and ensuring timely procurement to support ongoing operations.


Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

Pay Rate: $32.00-$38.00/hour

Purchasing Specialist Responsibilities:


  • Source and procure materials, components, and supplies to support production and operational needs
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure competitive pricing and reliable delivery
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and lead times with suppliers
  • Create and manage purchase orders while ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to avoid shortages or overstock
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand material requirements and project timelines
  • Review purchase requests and confirm alignment with specifications and operational needs
  • Track orders, resolve discrepancies, and address shipping or invoicing issues
  • Maintain accurate vendor records and purchasing documentation
  • Assist with reviewing vendor statements and resolving account discrepancies
