Chicago, IL | $110,000 – $140,000 + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits

A global consumer products organisation is seeking a Procurement Manager to support the development and execution of sourcing strategies across a portfolio of professional and technology-related services.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional who enjoys partnering with senior stakeholders, influencing business decisions, and driving measurable value through strategic sourcing and supplier management. The role sits within a high-performing procurement function and offers significant visibility across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute category strategies aligned to business objectives and long-term growth plans
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives, including RFPs, RFQs, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract execution
  • Manage strategic supplier relationships and establish performance frameworks to drive continuous improvement
  • Partner with stakeholders across technology, operations, finance, legal, HR, engineering, and other corporate functions
  • Deliver cost savings, cost avoidance, and value creation initiatives while balancing quality, service, and risk considerations
  • Conduct market analysis, supplier benchmarking, and commercial assessments to support sourcing decisions
  • Support supplier consolidation, standardization, and preferred vendor programs where appropriate
  • Negotiate commercial agreements, service levels, and contract terms with key service providers
  • Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, governance, and stakeholder engagement

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will bring a strong foundation in strategic sourcing and category management, combined with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Requirements include:

  • 8+ years of procurement, sourcing, or category management experience
  • Proven experience managing professional services, consulting, technology services, or broader indirect spend categories
  • Previous experience within a CPG, FMCG, consumer products, food & beverage, or manufacturing environment is essential
  • Strong commercial negotiation and contract management experience
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels across the organisation
  • Experience leading complex sourcing projects and delivering measurable financial results
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable sourcing strategies

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience working for a leading consulting firm or within a procurement consultancy environment
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPSD, CIPS, PMP, or equivalent
  • Experience working within large, multi-site, or multinational organisations

This position offers a unique combination of strategic responsibility, stakeholder exposure, and career progression within an established global business. The organisation is investing heavily in procurement transformation and is looking for someone who can bring fresh thinking, commercial acumen, and a collaborative approach.
