Position Summary

The Strategic Procurement Analyst is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that support the highly automated manufacturing of electronic connectors. This role goes beyond simple purchasing; it involves deep data analysis of market trends, supplier performance, and cost saving opportunities to ensure the Guntersville facility maintains its competitive edge and environmental stewardship goals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing and Cost Analysis

Strategic Sourcing Identify and vet global and local suppliers for raw materials including plastics for injection molding and metals for stamping or plating, as well as high tech components for robotic systems. Cost Analysis Conduct Make vs Buy analyses and Total Cost of Ownership TCO evaluations to optimize the operational budget.

Data and Contract Management

Data Management Utilize AI driven demand forecasting and automated procurement systems to maintain lean inventory levels without risking production downtime. Contract Negotiation Lead negotiations for long term supply agreements, focusing on quality standards, lead times, and sustainability compliance.

Supplier Relations and Collaboration

Supplier Relationship Management SRM Monitor supplier KPIs, including on time delivery and quality metrics, and lead monthly and fiscal business reports. Cross Functional Collaboration Partner with the JST Engineering and Sales teams to align procurement with new product designs and client requirements.

 Qualifications

Education and Experience

Experience Requires 3 to 5 plus years in procurement, supply chain, or data analysis within a manufacturing environment, with electronics or automotive industries preferred. Education Bachelor degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.

Technical Skills and Mindset

Technical Skills Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle and advanced Excel. Experience with AI driven procurement tools is a significant plus given the plant focus on automation. Analytical Mindset Proven ability to translate complex data sets into actionable procurement strategies.

Preferred Technical Expertise

Quality Standards Deep understanding of IATF 16949 Automotive Quality Management Systems and how it applies to supplier selection. Documentation and Reporting Proficiency with PPAP Production Part Approval Process and IMDS International Material Data System reporting. Regulatory Compliance Knowledge of RoHS Restriction of Hazardous Substances and REACH compliance for global electronics markets. Trade Knowledge Familiarity with USMCA rules of origin to ensure duty free movement of goods across North America.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods during inspections. Ability to inspect small parts and defects with or without magnification aids. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly. Ability to move between multiple workstations on the production floor. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or alternative shifts when required.
