Job description

Procurement Specialist
AOG (Aircraft On Ground)
Night Shift
7:00 pm to 7:00 am (4 days on, 4 days off)

Responsible for the procurement of all aircraft related parts, equipment and supplies to meet departmental requirements associated with the company's overall line aircraft operations worldwide. This entails sourcing aircraft parts, initiating purchase orders, expediting existing orders and coordinating logistics to meet the immediate requirements.
Essential Duties
  • Continuous follow-up to ensure supplier and delivery commitments are met.
  • Shall positively support and promote safety, security and quality as a fundamental function of the overall responsibility.
  • Ensure compliance with maintenance requisitions in a way that minimizes inventory investments and meets time requirements.
  • Review all purchase requisitions for content, accuracy, interchangeability and the level of urgency. Also monitor current stock levels and usages, to determine the necessity of the request.
  • Determine the responsible sources of supply.
  • Perform daily cycle counts.
  • Evaluate purchases to ensure compliance with all Federal Regulations and Company policies regarding quality, documentation and traceability.
  • Expedite open purchase orders.
  • Contact vendors to negotiate price, obtain the most preferred tag and direct the method of shipment.
  • Procure components, equipment and supplies with high levels of reliability while maintaining fiduciary responsibility to the Company.
  • Coordinate the acquisition of Loaner parts from other airlines.
  • Oversee all material requirements during AOG situations.

Education and Technical Requirements
  • Previous airline / aviation experience.
  • College degree in Business or related field preferred.
  • Previous purchasing and/or inventory planning experience preferred.
  • Self-initiative and ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Weekends, holidays, and some nights.
