Procurement Coordinator, Wagner Lumber (Owego, NY)
The Baillie Group's Wagner Lumber, in Owego, NY, is hiring a Procurement Coordinator. This is a full-time opportunity with a world-class hardwood lumber manufacturer. The person filling this role will own the day-to-day purchasing, receiving, and inventory function that keeps the mill running.
This position keeps the mill supplied with the right maintenance and operating parts at the right time, manages vendor relationships across our MRO portfolio, and maintains accurate inventory in Fiix CMMS. The role is the operational backbone of the maintenance supply chain and partners daily with maintenance technicians, mill production and export leads, and Baillie central procurement.
Procurement Coordinator Job Responsibilities:
  • Processing parts and consumables purchase requests from maintenance and production
  • Issuing RFQs to vendors and evaluating quotes on price, lead time, and quality
  • Placing purchase orders through approved vendor channels and tracking open POs
  • Receiving incoming shipments, verifying part numbers and quantities, and stocking parts to correct Fiix locations
  • Maintaining accurate inventory across 2,000+ active SKUs in Fiix CMMS
  • Running periodic cycle counts, reconciling variances, and adjusting reorder points based on usage trends
  • Supporting kiosk and scanning system workflows for technician-driven inventory transactions, including the upcoming transition to tablet-based Fiix CMMS workflows on the shop floor
  • Managing day-to-day relationships with key MRO vendors
  • Escalating sourcing problems, quality issues, and warranty claims, and identifying alternate sources for high-risk parts
  • Maintaining receipt documentation
  • Adherence to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures

Strong candidates for this position have experience in industrial procurement, MRO supply chain or CMMS systems
Procurement Coordinator Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or a related technical field is a plus
  • Background in sawmill, woodworking, or heavy industrial maintenance environments preferred

Procurement Coordinator Requirements
  • Comfort with CMMS (Fiix experience is a plus)
  • Solid Excel skills for tracking and reporting
  • Strong attention to detail with part numbers, pricing, and documentation
  • Effective written and verbal communication with vendors and the shop floor
  • Familiarity with mechanical parts such as motors, gearboxes, bearings, bushings, sprockets, chain, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Experience with cloud-based inventory systems preferred
  • Ability to work independently in a safe and effective manner
  • Adherence to safety policies
  • Ability to lift and move parts up to 50 lbs occasionally
