Job description

New Tech Global is currently seeking a Procurement Category Specialist in Houston, Texas.
Shift: Day Shift, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Position is expected to be onsite during the initial training period with the potential for a hybrid schedule based on performance.
Overview
The Procurement Category Specialist develops and manages strategic sourcing initiatives, partners with internal stakeholders and suppliers, negotiates contracts, identifies cost-saving opportunities, and supports procurement and supply chain operations.
  • Develop and implement procurement and strategic sourcing strategies.
  • Conduct supplier research and market analysis.
  • Prepare and execute RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and commercial terms.
  • Analyze spend data and sourcing opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders.
  • Track procurement performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Three or more years of procurement or supply chain experience preferred.
  • Experience with strategic sourcing for MRO categories.
  • Experience with RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and contract negotiations.
  • Knowledge of Oracle, JD Edwards, Glovia, or similar ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and professionalism.
