Procurement Manager

HealthVerity

Philadelphia, PA • On-site

Full-time

Job description

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Procurement Manager ensures HealthVerity acquires goods and services efficiently, cost-effectively, and compliantly - getting directly involved in day-to-day sourcing, negotiating, and vendor management. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to be in the details, not just overseeing from a distance.

We're looking for a Procurement Manager who thrives on execution. You won't just set strategy and hand it off - you'll be running RFPs yourself, sitting across the table in vendor negotiations, digging into spend data, and fixing broken processes with your own hands. This role suits someone who's energized by solving problems directly, wearing multiple hats, and getting things done in a fast-paced, lean environment rather than managing through layers of process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Personally manage the end-to-end procurement process for key categories - from sourcing and RFPs through negotiation and contract execution
  • Directly negotiate pricing, terms, and service levels with vendors, rather than delegating high-value or high-complexity negotiations
  • Own and maintain vendor relationships day-to-day, including troubleshooting issues as they arise
  • Process and manage purchase orders and requisitions directly when needed, especially during high-volume periods or when the team needs support
  • Partner closely and directly with Finance, Legal, IT, and department stakeholders to resolve procurement questions and unblock purchases quickly
  • Monitor vendor performance and compliance, personally following up on issues rather than waiting for problems to escalate
  • Jump into ad hoc projects and problem-solving as priorities shift - this role requires flexibility and a bias toward action

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • 5+ years of procurement experience, with a demonstrated preference for hands-on, execution-focused work over purely strategic/oversight roles
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of personally closing favorable vendor deals
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to do whatever it takes - from high-level strategy to manual PO entry - depending on what the business needs
  • Experience with procurement/ERP systems (e.g., Olive, Tropic, NetSuite)
  • Strong analytical skills - comfortable building your own spend analyses rather than relying solely on others
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build trust with stakeholders across departments

Base salary for the role is commensurate with experience and can range between $105,000 - 130,000 + annual bonus opportunity.
