In a Weekend Procurement position, you are responsible for sourcing, ordering, and expediting materials or services to keep operations running smoothly over the weekend. A Weekend Procurement job involves handling purchasing and supply chain tasks specifically over weekends. Responsibilities may include sourcing materials, processing purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring inventory levels meet operational needs. These roles are common in industries that require continuous procurement support, such as manufacturing, healthcare, or retail. Strong organizational skills and knowledge of procurement processes are essential for success in this role.
To excel in Weekend Procurement, you need a strong background in supply chain management, vendor negotiation, and order processing, often supported by a relevant degree or procurement certification. Familiarity with procurement software such as SAP, Oracle, or Coupa, as well as proficiency in MS Excel, are typically required. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams are critical soft skills. These skills are essential to ensure timely sourcing of goods and materials, even outside standard business hours, maintaining uninterrupted operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, or a related field; relevant procurement experience may be considered in place of formal education on a year-for-year basis.
• At least 2 years of experience in procurement, purchase order processing, accounts payable workflow, or a closely related function.
• Working knowledge of purchasing operations, supplier coordination, and document review within a structured business environment.
• Ability to verify invoice accuracy, match documentation to purchase orders, and resolve issues with strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with procurement compliance requirements, policies, and internal controls.
• Certified Purchasing credential or willingness to obtain certification within 12 months of start date.
• Experience in a government contracting setting is preferred.
