Description of Position Responsibilities
JOB TITLE: Sales Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for leading the company sales team to meet the sales and financial goals established by the leadership team. Coordinates direction, training, and support of Account Managers. Works in cooperation with the Directors, Vice Presidents, President, Account Managers and Inside Sales to achieve the goals and objectives of the company sales and marketing plan. Promotes consistent message increasing our brand awareness and our role as a supply chain solutions provider.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coaches Account Managers and Inside Sales Team to maximize sales and profits while accomplishing individual, team and company goals consistent with our role as a supply chain solutions provider.

  • Works with the Vice Presidents, Directors, Account Managers, and Inside Sales to develop territory strategy, and coordinate resources necessary to take advantage of market opportunities.

  • Communicates daily updates in business practices, market conditions, competition and technology to sales force and leadership team.

  • Works with all Corporate, Branch and Management personnel to build relationships and maximize opportunities with major accounts.

  • Designs and initiates sales promotions and incentives to move material identified by Business Development Manager, Sales and Purchasing as needed to meet the goals and objectives of the company marketing plan.

  • Develops and provides training and education for the Sales Team (AM & ISR) on sales technique and marketing our products in accordance with company philosophy and the marketing plan.

  • Receives and monitors call reports and internal communications through the CRM package to promote accountability and maximize selling opportunities.

  • Performs other duties as related or assigned for the benefit of our customers and Benjamin Steel.

  • Good attendance is an essential function of this job.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in business or related field and a minimum of 5 years steel service center or other related metalworking industry sales experience to include the sale of processed materials and 2 years proven success with industrial sales management and developing and delivering sales training preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Outstanding skills in communications, management, negotiation, organization, business analysis and customer service. Experience with CRM and applying technology preferred. Flexibility to travel 75% of the week, 25% overnight travel required.
