Job description

Company specializing in the import and distribution of French foods is seeking a detail-oriented Buyer/Purchasing Coordinator to manage supplier orders and support the procurement of imported products. This role serves as the primary liaison with our French suppliers, ensuring timely purchasing, accurate order management, and seamless coordination from purchase through delivery.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage the purchasing process with French suppliers, from purchase order placement through shipment.
  • Follow up on all purchase orders to ensure timely confirmation, production, and fulfillment.
  • Review and resolve discrepancies involving product descriptions, pricing, quantities, and order documentation.
  • Coordinate shipment schedules and container planning to maintain inventory flow.
  • Maintain accurate product, supplier, and pricing information in the purchasing database.
  • Prepare documentation to support customs clearance and import compliance.
  • Track supplier invoices and coordinate payment schedules.
  • Monitor compliance with import regulations and maintain required records.
  • Assist with receiving imported products and reconcile deliveries against purchase orders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers to support reliable sourcing and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in purchasing, procurement, buying, supply chain, or import operations preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with spreadsheets.
