JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Maintenance Planner

Department: Maintenance Planning

Reports To: Manager of Maintenance Planning

Location: Ypsilanti, MI

Shift: Full Time - 1st shift


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Use AMOS Data Base to:
    1. Monitor (daily) the TAT, TAC, flight schedule, projected Flight Hours (FH) & Flight Cycles (FC), and geographic locations of assigned aircraft.
    2. Monitor (daily) the time remaining on routine/scheduled maintenance tasks (to include time controlled components & maintenance checks) for assigned aircraft/engines/components to ensure on-time accomplishment/compliance.
    3. Issue Purchase Requests (PR) to order required materials (parts & tooling) for routine/scheduled maintenance tasks, to include Airworthiness Directives (AD) and Service Bulletins (SB).
    4. Issue routine/scheduled maintenance tasks to ensure on-time accomplishment/compliance within Calendar, FH, and FC limits.
    5. Prepare and issue work-scopes, work-packages, and work-orders for scheduled maintenance events.
    6. Produce Tally Sheets and Materials Reports for work packages.
    7. Research maintenance task history.
  2. As directed, create and update flight blocks, on the flight board, to show required ground time for scheduled maintenance checks.
  3. As directed, update maintenance planning forecasts and reports.
  4. As directed, create Workorders for accomplishment/compliance of Fleet Campaign Directives (FCD).
  5. As directed, send email reports to the “Flight Schedule” group informing of the planned maintenance schedule vs. flight schedule.
  6. Work closely with the Quality Control department in implementing Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins.
  7. Review newly released ADs/SBs/EOs and identify required materials (parts & tooling) for assigned aircraft/engines/components. Issue Part Requirements to ensure required materials are on order.
  8. Work closely with the Stores and Maintenance departments to ensure materials (parts & tooling) are available and in place for issued tasks (logistics).
  9. Inform the Maintenance Planning Manager when materials (parts & tooling) cannot be made available for accomplishment of a task in a planned location and down time.
  10. Review GMM & MIP revisions for maintenance program changes that affect assigned aircraft/engines/components. Make changes to work scopes, work packages, work orders, and issued maintenance tasks accordingly. If discrepancies are found, during the review of any revision, inform the Maintenance Planning Manager.
  11. Facilitate predock meetings for heavy checks and provide all supporting documents (i.e. work-scope, parts listing, purchase requests, meeting agenda) for meeting attendees.
  12. Accomplish audits of work packages, generated by other planners, for accuracy and completion.
  13. Maintain planning logs for Engineering Authorizations (EA), Engineering Orders (EO), Fleet Campaign Directives (FCD), and Supplemental Maintenance Tasks.
  14. Develop and support Maintenance Action Plans (MAP) to ensure on-time accomplishment/compliance of routine/scheduled tasks.
  15. Assist in the implementation of new aircraft into the Kalitta Air fleet.
  16. Assist in maintaining an AD & SB hard copy library.
  17. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Planning Manager.


QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent
  2. 3 years experience in large aircraft maintenance or large aircraft maintenance planning.
  3. General knowledge in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
  4. General knowledge of large aircraft systems and structures (Boeing Model 747, 767, & 777 preferred).
  5. General knowledge of large aircraft manuals (e.g. AMM, CMM, IPC, MPD, etc...).
  6. Experience in reading and understanding Airworthiness Directives (AD), Service Bulletins (SB), and Engineering Orders (EO).
  7. Mechanic certificate with Airframe & Powerplant ratings (CFR 14, Part 65 D) preferred but not required. (NOTE: Equivalent military knowledge/experience in the areas listed above is acceptable)
