Job Description Maintenance Planner / Scheduler - Manufacturing Location: North Sioux City, SD Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-4:30 PM Compensation: Approximately $80,000/year, based on experience Position: Full-Time | Direct Hire Industry: Food Manufacturing Maintenance Planning & Scheduling Opportunity We are hiring an experienced Maintenance Planner / Scheduler to help build and improve the maintenance planning process at a fast-paced manufacturing facility. This is a newly created position that will work closely with maintenance leadership and a team of approximately 10 Maintenance Technicians to make sure maintenance work is properly planned, scheduled, staffed, and ready to execute. The ideal candidate understands industrial maintenance and knows what technicians need before they start a job - parts, tools, labor, drawings, procedures, safety requirements, and enough time to complete the work correctly.

This is not a production planning or logistics scheduling position. Previous experience supporting industrial maintenance, maintenance planning, reliability, or manufacturing equipment is strongly preferred. What You'll Do Plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance work Build daily, weekly, weekend, and shutdown maintenance schedules Support approximately 10 Maintenance Technicians with properly planned work Review incoming maintenance requests and determine scope, priority, and requirements Develop detailed job plans before work is assigned to technicians Determine required labor, estimated hours, parts, tools, materials, and equipment Make sure necessary parts and materials are available before scheduled work begins Prepare job packages using manuals, schematics, drawings, parts information, and procedures Manage and prioritize the maintenance backlog Coordinate maintenance schedules with Production to minimize equipment downtime Maintain and improve preventive maintenance schedules Review PM frequencies and procedures to identify opportunities for improvement Plan equipment rebuilds, installations, modifications, shutdowns, and maintenance projects Review completed work orders for accurate labor, parts, repair details, and follow-up work Identify incomplete repairs and make sure follow-up work is properly scheduled Maintain equipment history and asset information within the CMMS Track repeat equipment failures and recurring maintenance problems Support Root Cause Analysis and equipment reliability initiatives Coordinate outside contractors and vendors when needed Work closely with MRO to ensure spare parts and maintenance materials are available Coordinate activities across Maintenance, Production, Sanitation, Quality, and Safety Track maintenance KPIs and identify opportunities for improvement What We're Looking For Previous industrial maintenance, maintenance planning, scheduling, or reliability experience Experience supporting maintenance operations in a manufacturing environment Experience using a CMMS or computerized maintenance work-order system Understanding of preventive maintenance programs Knowledge of industrial production equipment Ability to develop detailed maintenance job plans Experience managing and prioritizing a maintenance backlog Strong organizational and scheduling skills Ability to coordinate multiple maintenance activities and priorities Strong communication skills Comfortable working with Maintenance Technicians, Supervisors, Production, vendors, and contractors Computer skills including spreadsheets, email, maintenance software, and technical documentation #LP.
