To become a maintenance planner, you must have professional qualifications and experience in maintenance operations. Technical skills and training are often necessary because much of the equipment at manufacturing facilities has significant computerized components. You should also have good mechanical skills. In addition to these qualifications, you must be a strong multi-tasker who can utilize your managerial skills to coordinate operations. Some familiarity with budgeting, accounting, and administration is useful.
