Farmington Country Club presents an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join our high-volume and fast-paced Food and Beverage Operations team as an Upscale Restaurant Host! Our hosts consistently deliver high-quality service to our members and their guests in a friendly, professional manner. As a Host at Farmington Country Club, you will play a vital role in setting the tone for each member’s dining experience. This position is centered around creating a warm and welcoming environment from the moment a member walks through the door. Responsibilities include managing reservations and waitlists through Open Table, maintaining clean and updated menus, providing accurate information about the menu and club activities, and assisting with a variety of front-of-house tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, professional, and committed to delivering exceptional hospitality through genuine connection and efficient communication. An ideal Upscale Restaurant Host candidate is available Wednesday-Sunday evenings, looking for 3-5 shifts a week, and is comfortable working both inside and outside areas within our Upscale Restaurant, the Blue Ridge Room.

The Blue Ridge Room is the location for an exquisite social and dining experience at Farmington Country Club. Featuring a seafood forward menu, craft cocktails and a comprehensive wine list, The Blue Ridge Room is Farmington’s go-to outlet for our members looking to celebrate a special occasion or looking for an elevated dining experience. The four areas of the Blue Ridge Room include: The Bar, The Porch, and The Terrace and our private dining space The Wine Room. The Bar is a 21 and over area with a contemporary design and two flat screen TVs. The Porch is the main year-round dining area and the only dining area at Farmington where reservations are taken. The Terrace is the “member favorite” area of the dining room as it provides a beautiful view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and a great atmosphere for a cocktail or dinner from Spring through Fall seasons.

Operation Hours: (Dependent on season)

  • Bar (Beverage Service and Bar Menu): Wednesday-Sunday 3pm-Close
  • Restaurant: Wednesday-Sunday 5:30pm-9:00pm

Pay:

  • The Upscale Restaurant Host makes $15 hourly.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet members immediately upon entry with a smile and by name
  • Follow staff checklists for opening, side-work, and closing duties
  • Offer to hang coats, hats and umbrellas
  • Offer extra assistance to the elderly and handicapped
  • Answer the phone according to Farmington standards
  • Maintain Open Table software with accurate cover count, server assignments, and waitlist.
  • Communicate with members by quoting appropriate wait times and providing updates
  • Provide appropriate menus and a wine list to each table
  • Inform Chef De Cuisine and Blue Ridge Room Manager of the number of menus in the dining room at all times
  • Keep all menus up-to-date and clean, inside and out
  • Be knowledgeable about the menu in order to provide accurate information to diners
  • Communicate and assist other Floor Teammates. Assume busser, runner or server duties as needed
  • Follow Club and department safety and sanitation procedures
  • Clear Open Table software and return iPad to lockbox at the end of the shift
  • Attend staff pre-shift meetings and staff trainings
  • Advise managers of member concerns and suggestions
  • Report lost and found items to the managers
  • Complete other duties as assigned thoroughly and in a timely manner
  • Be well-informed about club activities; answer questions knowledgeably and professionally

Qualifications:

  • Available Wednesday-Sunday evenings with preference to work 3-5 shifts a week
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be 16 years of age or older
  • A minimum of three months of similar food service experience in a restaurant, resort, hotel or club environment
  • Physical stamina to walk and stand for extended periods
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
  • A professional appearance and demeanor that reflects the club’s standards
  • A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed during service
