Job description

Buena Vista University (BVU) is seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused Accounts Receivable Manager to oversee and manage student accounts receivable operations. This role is responsible for reconciling all receivable accounts, maintaining the accounts receivable module within the University's software system, and ensuring the accurate application of payments and adjustments across student accounts.

The Accounts Receivable Manager primarily supports Storm Lake campus student accounts by working directly with students and parents to address financial obligations, originating billing statements, and facilitating timely payment collection. In addition, this role oversees the consistent application of institutional policies and ensures compliance with applicable federal regulations for Storm Lake, Online, and Graduate student accounts, including BVU-administered loans, outstanding account balances, and specialized funding sources such as education-related and military benefits.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile student receivable accounts and process account adjustments accurately
  • Maintain the accounts receivable functions within the University's financial system
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with students and families regarding billing and payments
  • Prepare and distribute billing statements and monitor payment timelines
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies and applicable federal regulations
  • Partner with Financial Aid and other departments to resolve account-related questions
  • Represent BVU at designated student finance and University events
