Controller - Oakland/East Bay Area, CA (On Site)


We're partnering with a stable, privately held manufacturing company with decades of success serving highly regulated, quality-driven industries.


This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys improving processes, building structure, and partnering closely with operations and ownership.


This role is ideal for someone coming from manufacturing, construction, industrial, plastics, engineering, or other operationally complex environments who wants more visibility and influence inside the business.


Scope:

  • Lead and improve the month-end close process
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, reporting, reconciliations, and financial accuracy
  • Analyze margins, operational costs, and profitability trends
  • Partner directly with ownership and leadership on financial planning and business decisions
  • Improve reporting, accountability, and accounting processes across the organization
  • Support ERP optimization and operational reporting improvements
  • Mentor and develop a long-tenured accounting team
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and leadership teams


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of accounting or finance leadership experience
  • Prior experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accounting Manager
  • Strong month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting experience
  • Advanced Excel and ERP systems experience required
  • Manufacturing, construction, industrial, or project-based accounting experience highly preferred
  • Cost accounting, job costing, margin analysis, or operational finance exposure preferred
  • Process improvement mindset with a willingness to be hands-on
  • CPA is a plus, not required
  • Skills in data modeling
  • Advanced Excel required,ERP experience required,IQMS / DELMIAWorks experience highly preferred
