Job description

SUMMARY
The Training Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the training lead in planning, coordinating, and delivering various training programs and workshops for staff and management. This position requires someone who is engaged and passionate about educating others. In addition, it requires an eagerness to contribute to the development of others in both professional and personal ways.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/MAJOR TASKS
  1. Assist with the development and implementation of training programs, including curriculum design, content creation, and instructional materials preparation.
  2. Train new hires in company policies and procedures and use the best training methods for a specific purpose or audience.
  3. Assist in coordinating logistics for trainings sessions. To include schedules, venue booking, equipment setup, and participant registration.
  4. Assist in maintaining training records and databases, including attendance tracking, evaluation forms, and participant feedback.
  5. Provide administrative support for training initiatives, such as managing trainings calendars, processing invoices, and handling inquiries from relevant groups.
  6. Assist with collaborating with internal teams to update and enhance training materials based on feedback, industry trends, and best practices.
  7. Attend seminars and meetings to learn new training methods and techniques. Use the knowledge to assist in preparing and coordinating future training sessions.
  8. Stay current on developments in training methodologies, technology, and adult learning principles.
  9. Assist in marketing company training opportunities to employees to encourage participation.
  10. Inform employees on scheduled training and track their progress on training.
  11. Assist in maintaining accurate, up to date, individual training records.
  12. Become certified to teach; CPR/First Aid, medication administration, WELLE, and any other training programs utilized by Excentia Human Services and relevant groups.
  13. Any other duties and/or special projects that may be assigned.

Strong computer skills, (Microsoft Office, Excel, LMS) ability to navigate the internet and complete web-based research is required. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-centric approach.
2. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Able to analyze data.
3. REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Adaptability and flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines.
4. EDUCATION/EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a high school diploma and at least 1 year of experience working in the human service field. Previous experience in training coordination, administration, or related roles is preferred.
5. OTHER
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to meet the training needs of staff.
  • Moderate understanding in various presentation software.
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.

  • Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle to attend meetings and trainings.
