JOB SUMMARY:
To promote the mission of PATH to help individuals achieve a more independent and fulfilling life by being an effective team member. The Training Assistant will assist with support needs in the Training Department. Responsibilities include maintaining the Training Room, including set up and clean up from trainings; purchasing refreshments; keeping supplies replenished; and copying and organizing all training materials/handouts. Additionally, the Training Assistant will provide Orientation Day 1 and 2 preparation, set up/clean up, disinfecting CPR equipment and maintaining CPR supplies (gloves, lungs, face shields, etc.), maintaining filing systems, handling routine office duties such as purchase orders and mail, and overseeing training library materials including maintenance of videos.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School graduate with 2 years of increasingly responsible clerical experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Function and manage tasks independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent clerical and organizational skills; detail oriented.
  • Driver's License and Vehicle Required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to perform physical demands of position, such as carrying/bending/lifting/kneeling associated with shopping, filing and training set up.
  • Training set up includes:
    • Lifting/moving tables, chairs, and mats
    • Purchasing, carrying and storing bulk refreshment items
    • Delivery of mail, copies, and other materials between buildings on Castor Ave campus
    • Ability to lift/carry/move up to 30 pounds.


SPECIFIC DUTIES AS A TRAINING ASSISTANT:

  1. Perform all filing at least 2x per week- including maintaining accurate filing system for staff training files and training rosters/sign in sheets.
  2. Create training files for new hires.
  3. Pull staff training files for review 2 weeks prior to site visits.
  4. Collect, open, date stamp, and distribute external and internal incoming mail for the Training Department. Deliver mail at least daily between 8221 & 8220 Castor Avenue locations for Training Unit.
  5. Responsible for daily set up, break-down and clean up (e.g. AV equipment, arrangement of tables/chairs, displaying refreshments, providing training handouts/packets/prizes/printing of rosters) for all training classes based on the training room and conference room schedule.
  6. Prepare all handouts and other training materials using copy/set up lists, prior to scheduled trainings.
  7. Responsible for purchasing and replenishing all materials/supplies/equipment for Training Room and 8220 Castor Avenue Orientation Closet (i.e. snacks, cleaning supplies and paper products) as necessary.
  8. Maintain training room file cabinet and files with ample supply of extra copies as needed.
  9. Maintain training department supply closet and order office supplies monthly
  10. Assemble new employee folders and supervisor packets prior to each Day 1 Orientation.
