Job description


The Greer Group is recruiting a Training and Staffing Assistant for our client in Raleigh. This is a temporary position slated through November 2026!Monday - Friday, 8: 30 AM - 5: 15 PMEvening and Weekend overtime required during Election Season, some weeks are 50-60 hour work weeks!
  • This position will assist a team of staff who recruit, assign, and manage a pool of 13, 000+ Precinct Officials to work at polling places and early voting sites for each election.
  • Customer service (in-person, telephone, email);more than half of each day is spent communicating with Precinct Officials by phone or email.
  • Manage attendee check-in at election training classes (online and in-person).
  • Assignment of Precinct Officials to election work assignments using an election official management database.
  • Assist Precinct Officials with voter training and work assignment questions.
  • Review and process new Election Official applications to ensure required fields are completed and follow up with officials who do not properly complete.
  • Assist in reviewing timesheets submitted by Early Voting workers.
  • Assist in training over 2000 Precinct Officials and Early Voting workers for the upcoming elections.
  • Become very familiar with election procedures and laws pertaining to all types of elections in Wake Co.
  • Assist in setting up and breaking down training rooms.
  • Set up and provide technical assistance with microphones, laptops, slideshows, and AV equipment.
  • Type up notes in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and create Excel spreadsheets as needed.
  • Provide Trainer and Official assistance before, during, and after class.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
  • Assist with minor edits to training materials, including PowerPoints.
  • Provide telephone support for election day precincts, advise officials on procedures and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in reconciliation after elections and identify training issues and other issues that need follow-up.
  • Restock training material and pull/pack materials to be mailed to Officials.
  • Other clerical duties as assigned.

Job Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the US.
  • Must be available to work full days on all dates of voting.
  • Data entry experience (testing required for consideration).
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate well in a tight-knit team environment.
  • Organization and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to perform different tasks throughout the day.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of voter information and sign a confidentiality statement before being hired.
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills (filing, checklists, timelines)
  • Employee must have a valid North Carolina Driver's License.
  • Background check and drug screen required.
