Job description

Onward Education is a specialized education staffing and talent solutions company that helps educators, therapists, and school health professionals find top jobs with the nation's top schools. We're partnering with an excellent school district in Adams County, CO, to find a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide individualized support to early childhood students with diverse learning needs at one of our schools. The teacher will collaborate with general education staff and families to create inclusive, supportive learning environments that promote student success.


Position Details:

  • Position: Special Education Teacher
  • Location: Adams County, CO
  • Expected Start Date: Fall 2026
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, up to 32 hours per week


Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for your caseload of early childhood students.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Provide direct instruction in academic, behavioral, or life skills areas.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Use data to inform instructional decisions and IEP goals.
  • Support student transition planning and skill development for post-school outcomes.


Qualifications:

  • Hold or be eligible for a valid Colorado Teaching License with a Special Education endorsement.
  • Early Childhood Special Education (0-8)
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a state-approved educator preparation program in special education.
  • Pass required Colorado State Board of Education-approved content exams (e.g., Praxis for SPED).
