We are currently seeking an Attorney Training & Development Assistant in our Attorney Recruiting & Development department, reporting directly to the Attorney Training & Development Manager.ย ย

The position can reside in either the New York or Houston office, with hybrid work capabilities, and will be responsible for performing all responsibilities with a commitment to providing superior service to the firmโ€™s attorneys, advisors, and business staff, and to maintaining an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement.ย ย 
ย 
Key responsibilities of this position include:ย 
  • ย Assist with coordinating firmwide attorney development programs including academies and other training programs organized by the department. Responsibilities include liaising with attorneys and other business departments, making conference room reservations, preparing materials, coordinating with the IT team, coordinating arrangements for catering, assisting with travel and restaurant reservations, and assisting with other logistics.
  • Assist with coordinating practice group trainings in collaboration with the practice management department.ย  Responsibilities include liaising with attorneys and the practice management department, making conference room reservations, preparing invitations and materials, coordinating with the IT team, and assisting with other logistics.
  • Learn and become a knowledgeable resource for the Attorney Recruiting & Development department in ViAderant CLE/Training database.
  • Learn and develop a strong working knowledge of CLE rules and procedures to provide administrative support to the Senior CLE Administrator.ย  Responsibilities include entering training programs, license information, and CLE credits into ViAderant and state CLE databases, managing the post-program logistics such as video recording uploads into ViAderant CLE/Training database, and monitoring and managing the FirmCLE email account.ย 
  • Manage departmental invoices and expense reimbursement requests.
  • Monitor and manage the department calendar and inbox.
  • Schedule meetings, conference calls, and other appointments as needed.
  • Some travel is required to provide on-site support for firmwide training programs and academies.
  • Collaborate with department members to update and maintain the Attorney Development portal pages, department reference documents, and ViAderant CLE/Training database.
  • Participate in firmwide Attorney Recruiting & Development department projects.
  • Participate in Attorney Recruiting & Development meetings as scheduled.
  • Additional tasks and projects as needed.
Qualifications (Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of administrative experience, preferably in a law firm or other professional services setting.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and project management skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple projects and shifting priorities, facilitate solutions, and meet deadlines and milestones for projects assigned in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrate close attention to detail.
  • Strong service orientation and an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with attorneys, business staff, and vendors.
  • Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within the team.
  • Good judgment and professional maturity including the ability to manage confidential information with the utmost discretion.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and OneDrive with the ability and willingness to learn new software and operating systems.
  • Proficiency in using Generative AI tools or a willingness to learn and become proficient to support operational workflows.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to read, comprehend, and follow instructions.
  • Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet the needs of the department.
  • Familiarity with ViAderant or a willingness to learn and become proficient.

The anticipated base salary for this position in New York is $60,000. The actual salary offered will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, years of relevant experience, certifications or other professional licenses held, job-related knowledge and skills, business needs, and the location from which the work will be performed.ย  Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package, which may also include a full range of health and other insurance benefits, financial and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility), a discretionary bonus, and various paid time off benefits.ย  Additional information about benefits and rewards can be found here.
