Job description

Who We Are
FTI Consulting is the leading global expert firm for organizations facing crisis and transformation. We work with many of the world's top multinational corporations, law firms, banks and private equity firms on their most important issues to deliver impact that makes a difference. From resolving disputes, navigating crises, managing risk and optimizing performance, our teams respond rapidly to dynamic and complex situations.
At FTI Consulting, you'll work side-by side with leaders who have shaped history, helping solve the biggest challenges making headlines today. From day one, you'll be an integral part of a focused team where you can make a real impact. You'll be surrounded by an open, collaborative culture that embraces diversity, recognition, professional development and, most importantly, you.
Are you ready to make your impact?
About The Role
The Manager, Workday Reporting & Analytics will serve as a key technical resource for Workday report development, integration reporting, and analytics delivery within the HR Data & Analytics team. The Manager will support the full lifecycle of reporting initiatives, from requirements gathering through deployment and optimization, and will partner directly with HR and Finance Centers of Excellence (COEs) across the firm. The ideal candidate combines strong Workday HCM reporting expertise with the ability to translate ambiguous business needs into precise, scalable reporting solutions while managing competing priorities across multiple workstreams.
What You'll Do
Workday Report Development
  • Design, build, and maintain advanced Workday reports (Advanced, Matrix, Composite) and complex calculated fields across HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Talent, and Payroll.
  • Build reporting solutions that account for Workday security model impacts (domain, role-based, and user-based security), ensuring accurate, appropriately scoped data for each audience.
  • Build and manage dashboards and discovery boards to deliver self-service analytics to HR leadership and COE partners.
  • Serve as an escalation point for report defects, performance issues, and complex data interpretation questions, and evaluate new reporting features with each biannual Workday release.

Integration Reporting
  • Design and maintain custom reports that serve as data sources for outbound integrations, including web service-enabled reports (RaaS) consumed by downstream systems and vendors.
  • Develop integration audit, reconciliation, and error reporting to monitor data flows between Workday and connected systems.
  • Partner with the HR Technology team on reporting requirements for integrations built on EIBs, Core Connectors, Studio, and Orchestrate, and validate report-based integration outputs during testing cycles and biannual releases.

Project & Stakeholder Management
  • Own the project lifecycle for assigned reporting initiatives: intake, requirements, scoping, build, UAT, deployment, and documentation.
  • Serve as a liaison between HR COEs (Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, HR Business Partners, People Analytics) and the reporting function, translating ambiguous requests into clearly defined technical requirements.
  • Manage competing priorities across concurrent workstreams, proactively communicating status, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Prepare clear documentation including report specifications, data dictionaries, test plans, and end-user guides.

Team & Platform Partnership
  • Work closely with the wider HR Data & Analytics team, partnering with colleagues focused on Power BI-based analytics and data infrastructure to ensure Workday reporting complements and feeds the broader analytics ecosystem.
  • Collaborate closely with the HR Technology team on configuration changes, integrations, and platform enhancements that affect reporting.
  • Mentor report writers and analysts, and contribute to reporting standards, naming conventions, and best practices.
  • Maintain deep working knowledge of Workday business processes and the underlying data model.
  • Advise on data quality, governance, and audit readiness, and identify opportunities to extend analytics beyond native Workday via Prism Analytics or Power BI.
  • Help shape the team's adoption of AI capabilities, including Workday's evolving AI and machine learning features (e.g., Workday Illuminate) and AI-assisted approaches to report development, data analysis, and insight generation, with attention to responsible use and emerging AI governance standards.

How You'll Grow
We are committed to investing in your professional development through on-the-job learning, self-guided courses, and certifications. You'll be assigned a dedicated coach to mentor and support you, and as you progress at FTI Consulting, we offer tailored programs for critical professional milestones to prepare you for your next role.
What You Will Need To Succeed
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in HRIS, HR reporting, or HR data analytics, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on Workday report development.
  • Strong proficiency in Workday reporting tools: Advanced Reports, Matrix Reports, Composite Reports, Calculated Fields, and Custom Report Data Sources.
  • Workday Pro certification in Reporting.
  • Experience developing report-based integration outputs (e.g., RaaS) and supporting integration reporting requirements.
  • Solid understanding of the Workday HCM data model, business processes, and security architecture and their impact on reporting outputs.
  • Demonstrated experience managing reporting projects end-to-end.
  • Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s) as needed.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position does not provide visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional Workday Pro certifications in HCM or related functional areas.
  • Experience with BIRT, Workday Prism Analytics, Adaptive Planning, or Workday Extend.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI (report creation, DAX, Power Query, data modeling).
  • Familiarity with Workday integration frameworks (EIBs, Core Connectors, Studio, Orchestrate) as they relate to reporting data flows.
  • Experience supporting Workday implementations or post-go-live optimization efforts.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and enthusiasm for applying AI to HR reporting and analytics, whether through Workday's native AI capabilities, AI-assisted development tools, or emerging analytics technologies.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical audiences and build trusted relationships with HR stakeholders.
