Workday Reporting Lead
Location: Remote
Role Overview
This position is for a Workday Reporting Lead for a Workday Financials implementation. The role is responsible for driving the end-to-end reporting strategy, design, and delivery across finance workstreams. This role partners with business stakeholders, functional leads, and technical teams to ensure accurate and business-aligned reporting solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and execution of the Workday Financials reporting strategy, including guiding principles and future-state vision.
  • Manage the end-to-end reporting workstream, including scope definition, prioritization, and delivery timelines.
  • Partner with finance stakeholders to gather, document, and validate reporting requirements across functional areas.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive reporting inventory, including rationalization and optimization of existing reports.
  • Lead fit-gap analysis to determine appropriate reporting solutions.
  • Design and oversee the development of Workday reports, including custom reports, dashboards, and calculated fields.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate data sourcing and alignment.
  • Manage the report development lifecycle including build, testing, and migration to production.
  • Track and manage risks, issues, and decisions related to reporting deliverables.
  • Provide status updates to program leadership and contribute to project governance.
  • Support user acceptance testing and ensure successful validation of reporting outputs.
  • Act as a change champion, supporting the adoption of Workday reporting capabilities.
  • Establish reporting governance, standards, and best practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience with Workday Financials reporting (e.g., Financial Accounting, Procurement, Expenses).
  • Strong expertise in Workday Report Writer, calculated fields, and reporting frameworks.
  • Experience leading or supporting reporting workstreams within ERP transformations or system implementations.
  • Proven ability to gather and translate business requirements into technical reporting solutions.
  • Experience managing stakeholders and facilitating working sessions with business and technical teams.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, integrations, and reporting dependencies within Workday.
  • Communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Workday Prism Analytics or advanced reporting tools.
  • Prior consulting experience or client-facing delivery roles.
  • Exposure to finance transformation initiatives or shared services models.
  • Familiarity with Agile or hybrid implementation methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
