Job description

This analyst in this position is responsible with interacting with end users across the organization to develop, implement, maintain, analyze and or update requested reports. Reports can be clinical or non-clinical in nature providing insight into clinical workflows, operations, quality, finance or other needs as required. Reports can be disseminated either as static (one-time, Ad hoc) or dynamic (recurring, Data Visualizations) via multiple pathways (Epic, Excel, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.). The report writer will be responsible for developing specifications for, and writing individual reports to satisfy facility and enterprise reporting needs. Ad hoc reporting tasks include one-time SQL queries, troubleshooting, restarting and creating report subscriptions, investigating the logic used in existing reports to determine what type of data populates the report, and researching reports within our EMR Vendor, Epic, for possible implementation and or updates.

  1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, applied Mathematics, Business Administration, Economics/Statistics, Telecommunications, Data Communications, Data Visualization or a related field of study.
  2. Experience writing and analyzing SQL queries - MS SQL, Oracle
  3. Healthcare related experience a plus
  4. Experience with MS Visio and data flow charting
  5. Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau and PowerBI
  6. Developing business and functional requirements based on business needs
  7. Understanding of a wide range of interpretive analysis tools (e.g. trend analysis, spreadsheets, comparisons, graphs, summary versus detail charts, drill down, correlations, exception analysis)
  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical partners
  9. Strong Analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills required.
  10. Attention to detail, patience, and appositive, customer centric attitude are required.
  11. Broad knowledge and expertise in the characteristics of computers, peripheral devices, communications systems and hardware capabilities, programming languages, E.D.P. applications, systems analysis methodology, data management and retrieval techniques; or a satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
