Position Overview:
RIVA Solutions is seeking a Project Analyst/Editor/ Technical Writer to provide comprehensive editorial and research support to senior leadership within the Secretariat of the General Staff of the Army National Guard.
This role requires strong writing, editing, research, and formatting expertise, along with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-visibility Army National Guard environment. The ideal candidate will ensure integrity, clarity, and compliance of official correspondence, policy documents, and leadership communications while supporting executive workflow processes.
The selected candidate must be adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable interfacing with senior military and civilian leadership.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide editorial services including editing, proofreading, writing, research, indexing, copywriting, and fact checking
  • Format and prepare official documents in accordance with Army National Guard and NGB correspondence standards
  • Support development of policy documents, procedural manuals, memoranda of agreement/understanding, charters, awards, and executive communications
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of correspondence on behalf of the Secretariat of the General Staff
  • Provide editorial advice and recommendations to Action Officers and Workflow Managers
  • Conduct research to support leadership communications and decision-making
  • Assist with document mapping, archiving, records management, and library services
  • Edit and publish monthly announcements on behalf of the Army National Guard Staff
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion due to the sensitivity of information handled

Requirements

  • The ability to make informal judgments and timely decisions (judgments and decisions require incumbent to rely on broad knowledge base and experience absent pertinent written guidelines due to the uniqueness of issues)
  • Responsible for project oversight including but not limited to timesheets, invoicing, accounting, monthly status report delivery, contract modifications, onboarding & off-boarding of personnel, interviewing & hiring etc.
  • Skilled in oral and written communications
  • Experience and capability to analyze complex technical issues and presenting them in clear and concise language
  • Experience in briefing senior leadership
  • Demonstrated leadership and managerial abilities essential to successful accomplishment of multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated knowledge of functions and missions of the National Guard and its role and organizational relationships within the DoD
  • Knowledge and experience in electronic task management systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior working experience with Department of Defense component
  • Experience interfacing with senior military and civilian officials and the protocol involved
  • Work experience in organizational analysis, writing, and research demonstrated by positions held in those career fields
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality due to the sensitivity of information being processed through the NGB Exec Sec Directorate
