Black & McDonald's Southern Ontario Pullman Shared Services team is growing! If you are an analytical and collaborative professional searching for the opportunity to build a solid foundation for your career, this position is for you.

The Project Analyst is located in Scarborough and typically reports directly to the Regional Controller. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Analyze project costs and identify variances between budget, forecast and actual expenditures
  • Organize and attend job cost review meetings with project management team
  • Assist with monthly job forecast updates and entering productivity data
  • Prepare and issue accurate customer invoices, follow up on client approvals
  • Review and assist with the reconciliation of purchase orders
  • Code and reconcile payments within JD Edwards
  • Prepare documentation to support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities
  • Demonstrate a self-starting approach with a high level of accuracy
  • Perform other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU CAN OFFER

  • Post-secondary education in accounting or Finance is preferred.
  • 1-3 years' experience in billing, project accounting or similar accounting roles including exposure to accounting cycle, financial reporting, billing, and account reconciliations
  • CPA designation is not required.

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Basic understanding of end-to-end financial processes
  • Advanced Excel skills is essential
  • Experience with JD Edwards is considered an asset
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

The expected salary range for this role is between $58,000 - $75,000 per year. The starting salary will be determined based on several factors such as the successful candidate's qualifications, including but not limited to education and experience. Base pay is one component of Black & McDonald's total rewards package. Total rewards vary by position and may include additional offerings such as group insurance benefits, pension plan, annual discretionary bonus, career development programs, and other HR programs.
