Salary range (but not limited to):

94,200 - 115,200

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and highly analytical Senior IT Project Portfolio Analyst to join our team.


In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing the performance of our IT project portfolio and overseeing financial forecasting to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and optimal investment in projects.

As a Senior Portfolio Analyst, you will work closely with the Portfolio Manager, the Project Control Officer (PCO), and other stakeholders to support project prioritization, budgeting, and resource allocation to maximize value.

Your advanced analytical skills and strong command of Power BI will enable you to deliver actionable insights, optimize performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives within our IT project ecosystem.

What you'll do here:


Portfolio planning:

  • Oversee the IT project portfolio to optimize investments and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Support project prioritization through effective processes and tools to improve project and program selection.
  • Maintain a portfolio risk and opportunity register to inform and accelerate decision-making.

Governance and quality assurance:

  • Ensure compliance with governance rules and the application of processes and procedures established by the IT Project Management Office.

Performance tracking and reporting:

  • Track and assess the performance of projects and programs against defined metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Provide meaningful insights into portfolio delivery through presentations, analyses, and performance indicators. Coordinate and support capacity management to enable project delivery.

Budget and cost control:

  • Perform financial analyses using actuals, forecasts, and budget data to provide valuable financial insights.

Continuous improvement:

  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement best practices, standards, and methodologies for project and portfolio management.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration and communication, facilitate training, and ensure clear communication across the organization with Project Control Officers (PCOs), Project Managers (PMs), Directors, and Senior Directors.

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, business administration, finance or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in portfolio analysis, project management, or a similar role within IT projects.
  • Strong expertise in Power BI, including the ability to create dashboards and dynamic visualizations.
  • Proven experience presenting portfolio status and performance to executive leadership.
  • In-depth understanding of project portfolio management (PPM) software and tools, including Clarity, JIRA, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data into actionable insights that support decision-making.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management and budget forecasting for IT portfolios.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
