Job description

The IT Project Portfolio Analyst II reports to the Director of Portfolio Management within GTO and is responsible for leading and advancing the full Portfolio Management Lifecycleโ€”from demand intake through project closure and value realizationโ€”for IT initiatives within their assigned business unit(s). This role partners closely with both business and IT leadership to proactively monitor project and portfolio health, leveraging a variety of Microsoft tools to support governance, resource and time management, and reporting. The Analyst ensures all work aligns with and adheres to established Portfolio Process standards.


- Support the analysis and organization of incoming demand, helping assess priorities and gather business case details to inform portfolio decisions.

- Assist in maintaining governance around intake processes, including documenting requests, coordinating demand sizing activities, and preparing materials for steering/business approvals.

- Participate in the ideation process by helping facilitate discussions with business partners and capturing initial requirements.

- Prepare and distribute routine status update reports for business partners and leadership under the guidance of senior analysts.

- Create and maintain basic reports, charts, and dashboards for use in presentations to leadership.

- Collaborate with business partners, technical teams, and solution architects to help document highlevel scope, effort estimates, and required teams for upcoming project work.

- Track and update business roadmaps and portfolio data, supporting analysis of intake requests, budgets, and capacity constraints.

- Promote adherence to portfolio standards and processes, ensuring alignment between IT resources, processes, and organizational objectives.

- Support ongoing evaluation of demand intake workflows by providing observations and helping document recommendations from senior team members.

- Assist with monitoring resource capacity needs and updating portfolio tools as changes occur.

- Utilize WR SharePoint forms, Azure DevOps, and Power BI to enter data, maintain records, and support reporting needs.

- Coordinate project onboarding activities, including gathering required approvals, tracking resource assignments, and assisting with hand-offs to the PMO or project managers


  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or 3+ years of experience in IT Governance, Portfolio Management, or related IT/business support functions.
  • 3+ years of project coordination or project support experience, including assisting in delivery activities and status reporting.
  • 2+ years of experience working with data analysis or reporting tools.
  • Demonstrates strong skills in critical thinking, relationship building, integrity, and problemsolving.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders, providing support, guidance, and clear communication.
  • Solid business acumen with the ability to understand planning discussions and support decision-making.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and solutionoriented when helping resolve issues.
  • Comfortable communicating with managers and seniorlevel stakeholders.
  • Experience working with crossfunctional teams and supporting collaboration across technology and business groups.
  • Ability to present information to small groups and help explain or walk through new processes.
  • Support the preparation and tracking of IT budgets, forecasts, and project financial updates.
  • Highly attentive to detail with a focus on accuracy while understanding overall portfolio context.
  • Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to translate information clearly.
  • Organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively while responding to shifting needs.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to respond appropriately to questions and concerns.
  • Strong team contributor with a commitment to shared goals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint preferred.

The expected salary range for this role is (USD $58,500.00 - USD $85,000.00 Yr.)
