Position Summary

The Manufacturing Supervisor supports TransPak’s production operations by overseeing daily manufacturing activities and leading shop floor personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role is responsible for coordinating labor, materials, equipment, and workflow to meet production schedules while maintaining company standards for safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

The Manufacturing Supervisor works closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Materials teams to ensure production processes run smoothly, resolve issues quickly, and continuously improve manufacturing performance. This position provides hands-on leadership on the production floor while driving accountability, teamwork, and adherence to TransPak’s operational standards.

What You’ll Be Doing
Production & Operations Oversight

  • Supervise day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements are met.
  • Coordinate production workflow by ensuring materials, tools, equipment, and labor are properly allocated.
  • Monitor production output, efficiency, and quality metrics, addressing issues that impact productivity or delivery timelines.
  • Work closely with Materials and Planning teams to ensure production has the required materials available when needed.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of production equipment and tools.
  • Escalate production issues to appropriate departments and collaborate on solutions to maintain production flow.

Team Leadership & Daily Operations

  • Lead, coach, and support production team members to ensure safe work practices and consistent performance.
  • Assign daily tasks and responsibilities based on production priorities and staffing levels.
  • Provide hands-on guidance and troubleshooting support on the shop floor.
  • Support employee training and onboarding for manufacturing processes, equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Monitor attendance, performance, and engagement of production staff.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Process & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize workflows.
  • Support implementation of standardized work instructions and operating procedures.
  • Participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to address process issues and implement improvements.
  • Assist with layout improvements, material flow improvements, and productivity enhancements.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure production activities comply with TransPak quality standards, safety policies, and regulatory requirements (ISO 9001, OSHA, etc.).
  • Reinforce adherence to work instructions, quality procedures, and inspection requirements.
  • Address quality issues and implement corrective actions with support from Quality teams.
  • Promote a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and reporting hazards.

Support internal audits and corrective action follow-up when required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or operations environments
  • 1–2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and shop floor workflow
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and interpret production drawings, work instructions, and specifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Highly Desired

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • Experience in packaging, fabrication, assembly, machining, or similar manufacturing environments
  • Exposure to ERP systems and production reporting tools
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, waste reduction)
  • Familiarity with production metrics such as cycle time, throughput, scrap, and efficiency

Technical Skills

  • Basic familiarity with measurement tools (tape measures, calipers, scales)
  • Ability to interpret basic technical drawings and specifications
  • Understanding of material flow, work instructions, and process standardization
  • Knowledge of production scheduling and workflow coordination
