Operational Leadership
  • Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse operations and sheet metal fabrication activities.
  • Ensure all fabrication processes (cutting, forming, assembly, and finishing) align with company procedures, SMACNA standards (as applicable), and customer requirements.
  • Plan and manage workflow, production schedules, and operational goals while maintaining efficiency and minimizing downtime.
  • Monitor team performance and resolve operational challenges to maintain productivity and deadlines.

Quality & Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain high product quality standards through inspections of fabricated sheet metal components and process monitoring.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives including Lean principles such as 5S, Kaizen, and standardized work.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance fabrication efficiency and reduce material waste and rework.

Resource & Inventory Management
  • Manage workforce productivity, manpower allocation, and equipment utilization (e.g., brakes, shears, plasma tables, roll formers).
  • Oversee inventory processes including raw sheet metal materials (steel, aluminum, galvanized), receiving, storage, and tracking.
  • Ensure availability of tools, materials, and consumables to support fabrication and warehouse operations.

Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce company safety policies and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and shop safety procedures.
  • Promote safe operation of fabrication equipment and proper handling of sheet metal materials.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and support incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Maintain a strong culture of safety awareness in both warehouse and fabrication areas.

Team Leadership & Development
  • Ensure employees are properly trained in sheet metal fabrication techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to support employee growth.
  • Address performance issues while maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
  • Maintain strong communication with leadership, project managers, and internal teams.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in sheet metal fabrication, manufacturing, or mechanical construction operations.
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal processes including cutting, forming, assembly, and installation readiness.
  • Knowledge of shop equipment such as press brakes, shears, plasma cutters, and CNC machinery.
  • Working knowledge of Lean principles including 5S and continuous improvement practices.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with solid analytical and administrative skills.
  • Experience managing manpower allocation and production productivity.
  • Proficiency with modern technology including laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and shop safety standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in HVAC ductwork fabrication or architectural sheet metal.
  • Familiarity with SMACNA standards and sheet metal specifications.
  • Certifications such as Lean Manufacturing, OSHA 10/30, or fabrication-related credentials.
  • Experience using ERP, MRP, or inventory/WMS systems.
  • Exposure to CNC programming or automated fabrication equipment is a plus.
