We extrude plastic products, primarily films, but also sheet and profile. Our facility promotes a family friendly atmosphere, broad diversity and welcoming environment to our team. We believe in our team and pride our employees on their individual contributions and team contributions knowing without them we can't be at our best to meet our customers and venders' needs.Our company is currently searching a member to join our Production team as a Production Manager who will work to provide support across our plant. This position will work within a team of other production staff and will be based in our Chicago, IL facility. This role will require candidates to be able to work Monday - Friday typically 6am - 2:30pm and other times as needed to meet business needs. Key Role and Responsibilities:Ensure all production lines are operating at proper speeds and proper output levels while adhering to company's established quality policies and productivity standards.Oversee all production supervisors, crews, and janitorial staffMaintain efficient and safe working conditions of all machinesManage all plant start-up and shutdown procedures Ensure all quality control procedures are implemented and adhered to company standardsManage raw material receiving procedures and notify management of any concernsEnsure strict compliance and adherence to all established health, safety, and environmental policies. Manage and coordinate production schedules and provide completion estimates based on manpower and equipment availability. Ability to troubleshoot and maintain machine functionality Ability to coach and train new hires and production supervisors on all machines and continually develop existing employees on building proficiency.Manage employee disciplinary and accountability procedures when neededProper understanding of raw materials and verify correct blend of materials for each product line. Other duties may be assigned at times to meet facility and company needs.Skills:High School Diploma or GED required.5-7 years previous manufacturing experience in a leadership roleBilingual in Spanish preferredAbility to work independently and has excellent organizational and leadership skillsAbility to define problems, collect data, draw valid conclusionsPossess effective written and verbal communication skills Able to multitask and manage competing prioritiesWorking knowledge of OSHA standards and regulationsAbility to supervise and lead team, promote teamwork, and champion company cultureAbility to safely operate material handling equipment including forklifts and overhead cranesGeneral computer skills including use of manufacturing softwareAbility to climb stairs and ladders regularlyApplicant must be able to pass pre-employment screening, background check, physical and drug screening (including marijuana) processes to be eligible for employment.
