Job description

Position summary:
The Training amp; Development Coordinator (TDC) is responsible for improving the overall onboarding and training experience for new employees and participants. The TDC will provide effective communication regarding Goodwill’s mission to all individuals during the onboarding and orientation process. The TDC will identify and develop training programs to promote professional growth and development of employees.
Essential functions:
  • Design and implement orientation programs for new employees.
  • Initiate and complete onboarding process with all new hires.
  • Assess the training needs of all individuals and teams and oversee those needs.
  • Perform training sessions with new employees through various methods to engage employees.
  • Implement different sales training techniques such as group activities or case studies.
  • Collect feedback from management regarding training material and make improvements as per the requirement of people.
  • Keep updated records of training materials and modules.
  • Document the activities in a report and share the same with higher management.
  • Research and implement new training techniques for our organization.
  • Provides support and mentoring for employees.
  • Conduct evaluations to determine the effectiveness of training materials.
  • Ensure all of the required proper training is conducted for every employee.
  • Promote a culture that reflects the organization’s mission, vision, values, encourages good performance, and rewards productivity.
  • Work closely with department managers on all employee related issues when training is necessary.
  • Represent Goodwill’s mission and values in the community. Represent Goodwill Industries of Lorain County in regional, state and national settings, as appropriate.
  • Responsible for other duties as they may be assigned.
Qualifications and required skills:
  • Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability and time management skills required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background screen/fingerprint check.
  • Valid Driver’s License with good driving record, proof of current automobile insurance required every six months. Willing to travel to different locations throughout Lorain County.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
Education and experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in a training or educational field preferred.
