Job description

ColonialWebb is seeking an experienced Workforce Planning & Development Leader to support our large-scale construction operations by evaluating, deploying, and optimizing skilled trades talent across multiple job sites. Based in Richmond, VA, this role partners closely with Operations leadership and field teams to ensure the right craft professionals are assigned to the right projects at the right time, supporting safety, productivity, quality, and schedule performance across our Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing construction teams.

A day in the life:

  • Understanding the strengths, experience, certifications, and readiness of skilled craft professionals to make smart project assignments.
  • Partnering with the Director of Operations, Superintendents, Project Managers, and HR to align manpower with current and upcoming project demands.
  • Supporting large, complex jobs, including data centers and other mission-critical facilities, with the right field talent at the right time.
  • Translating project schedules into 3-, 6-, and 12-month workforce forecasts and labor demand curves by trade and skill level.
  • Identifying workforce gaps early and helping drive recruiting strategies, pipeline development, succession planning, and skill-gap closure.

You should have:

  • 10+ years of experience as a Superintendent on large, complex construction projects.
  • Strong background in Mechanical, Electrical, and/or Plumbing construction.
  • Experience managing and supporting large craft workforces.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • Data center construction experience strongly preferred.

Trades Supported: Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing, including plumbers, pipefitters, pipe welders, electricians, HVAC technicians, and sheet metal mechanics/installers.
