Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Deployment Lead to join our team! This role ensures successful integration, adoption, and compliance of automation systems within FAA operations. This position is hybrid and based on customer needs, the successful candidate should expect frequent, and at times short-notice, on-site requirements at FAA Headquarters in Washington, DC. For this reason, only those located within a 100-mile radius of FAA Headquarters will be considered.
T5 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) to Parsons in April 2023. Parsons is the prime contractor. This $1.8+ billion contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA's Capital Investment Plan (CIP) and certain reimbursable programs, the FAA NextGen Program, national security programs and aviation safety. Specifically, work includes site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, drafting, contract surveillance, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA's nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Plans and executes all aspects of assigned projects including the development of scope of work (SOW) documents, budgets, schedules, and project implementation plans.
  • Coordinates project requirements with client to ensure delivery of high-quality project deliverables.
  • Collaborates with Project or Program Manager to establish project schedule and budget to include the number of hours required for successful completion of project tasks; monitors progress to meet requirements.
  • Anticipates project staffing needs and collaborates with the Project or Program Manager to identify and select personnel.
  • Establishes objectives and conducts performance appraisals for direct reports.
  • Develops project documents, processes, and procedures required to support quality control and final project deliverables.
  • Establishes a project safety plan; ensures it is communicated to all employees on the job site.
  • Actively promotes and supports safety, security, and quality policies; monitors the job site for good practices.
  • Collaborates with project procurement staff to acquire qualified vendors for supply support or onsite tasks.
  • Plans materials requirements, identifies long lead items, and works with purchasing staff to coordinate supply support for field teams.
  • Establishes site security measures and monitors site access by subcontractors and others.
  • Chairs regular job meetings with project stakeholders; prepares and submits a project progression summary and pending issues to client and Project/Program Manager.
  • Submits regular reports to client; responds to issues and/or expectation concerns.
  • Negotiates changes to the scope of work with the client and subcontractors.
  • Reviews bid documents and assists with bidder solicitation activities.
  • Documents and executes changes in scope of project.
  • Anticipates problems and works with client, architects/engineers, subcontractors, and Project or Program Manager to identify and implement corrective actions.
  • Keeps client and Project or Program Manager informed of the daily project activities.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of job progress through daily logs and other reports.
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical, construction, or related field (or equivalent)
  • 10+ years related work experience to include 3+ years in a leadership role leading a field teams
  • Ability to pass a customer initiated background check
