Main Purpose
The Finance Associate plays a critical role in supporting compensation planning, headcount reporting, workforce analytics, and broader FP&A activities within PIMCO's Finance function. The role provides high-visibility partnership to senior leadership and the Executive Office through accurate budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and actionable insights that drive timely and informed decision-making.
Working with highly sensitive compensation and workforce data, the Finance Associate ensures data integrity, strengthens planning processes, enhances reporting quality, and takes increasing ownership of process and systems improvements.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment with frequent ad-hoc requests, enjoys working with data, and brings strong analytical judgement and communication skills.
Responsibilities
Compensation & Workforce Planning
  • Maintain and reconcile compensation, headcount, and workforce data within Oracle EPM Cloud Planning.
  • Support monthly/quarterly compensation planning cycles, including accrual preparation, forecast updates, and scenario modelling.
  • Analyse drivers of compensation and headcount movement, identifying key trends, risks, and sensitivities.
  • Assist with implementation, maintenance, and user support of PIMCO's workforce planning and reporting systems.
  • Act as a Finance partner to HR and Compensation teams during planning and forecasting cycles.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting
  • Contribute to annual budgeting, long-range planning, and rolling forecasts for compensation and headcount.
  • Prepare monthly management reporting, variance analysis, and commentary for senior stakeholders, including the Executive Office.
  • Develop and enhance benchmarking, profitability, and scenario based reporting to support strategic decision making.

Data Integrity & Process Improvement
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of workforce and financial data across Oracle, Workday, and ERP systems.
  • Document, maintain, and improve reporting processes, policies, and operating procedures.
  • Challenge existing processes and data flows, recommending pragmatic improvements.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to automate recurring reporting using Excel, Alteryx, Python, or other tools.

Ad-Hoc & Special Projects
  • Deliver high-volume ad-hoc analysis under tight deadlines, with frequent context switching.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives across HR, Finance, Talent, and business teams.
  • Participate in strategic workforce, compensation, and finance transformation / process-enhancement projects as needed.

Requirements
Experience & Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of FP&A, HR Finance, or Compensation Analytics experience, with exposure to workforce or people related financial planning.
  • Experience in large, matrixed organisations preferred.

Technical Skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (PivotTables, XLOOKUP, advanced formulas; modelling).
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle EPM Cloud Planning strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to Workday (HCM or workforce data structures).
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Alteryx, Python, Power BI or other automation/analytics tools beneficial.

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
Salary Range: $ 87,000.00 - $ 93,000.00
