Pinion is seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong Billing Analyst to support our Firmwide Billing team. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring accurate billing execution, effective revenue recognition, and strong collaboration with Client Managers. Your work directly impacts client satisfaction, financial performance, and the integrity of our service agreements—making you an essential partner in delivering value across the firm.

As a Billing Analyst, your collaboration with others will ensure clients are renewing Service Agreements in a timely manner and are billed appropriately. • Ensure accuracy and completeness before finalizing billing setups.

  • Own a portfolio of Client Managers, ensuring accurate, timely billing for all service agreements.
  • Execute or support hourly billing, including reporting and collaboration with Client Managers when billing is handled at the engagement level.
  • Manage revenue recognition, including:
    • Reviewing work-in-progress (WIP) balances
    • Identifying discrepancies or needed adjustments
    • Proposing additional billing for out-of-scope work
  • Proactively communicate with stakeholders to maintain billing accuracy and completeness.

Accounts Receivable Collaboration

  • Partner with Client Managers and administrative staff to monitor and manage aged receivables.
  • Update invoice statuses and maintain detailed notes in the STAR system.
  • Ensure internal alignment by communicating status updates and driving timely follow-ups.

What you’ll need for this position:

Core Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in billing (preferred) or accounting
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills and demonstrated success in influencing a diverse group of stakeholders, building and managing professional relationships to achieve internal client deliverables.
  • Confidence in upholding firm processes and supporting others in adhering to policies.

Digital Fluency

  • Experience working with financial systems (STAR preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiarity with or interest in:
    • Power BI and reporting tools
    • Automation technologies
    • Adapting to evolving systems and digital processes

Critical Thinking

  • Ability to analyze data, identify discrepancies, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in revenue recognition and billing accuracy.
  • A proactive mindset for improving processes and ensuring operational excellence.

Bonus

  • Experience in accounting or banking industries.

What’s in it for you:

  • Flexible work environment: hybrid options available in Lenexa (KS), Wichita (KS), Salina (KS), Indianapolis (IN), Nashville (TN), Helena (MT), or Jackson (MO)
  • A people-centered culture, with fun, included among our core firm values
  • A robust training and development program designed to help you discover your distinct abilities and use them to grow yourself and the firm
  • A fast track to leadership and influence for those who pursue it
  • Pinion offers a competitive compensation and excellent benefits package, including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, 401k/profit-sharing, paid time off and holidays, flexible work arrangements, and paid parental leave.
