Job description

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Analyst. This role will be responsible for managing customer billing, performing unbilled revenue analysis, ensuring compliance with contractual and accounting requirements, preparing journal entries, and resolving accounts receivable issues. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and prior experience with Deltek Costpoint.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and process customer invoices accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Perform monthly unbilled revenue analysis and investigate billing discrepancies.
  • Ensure billing activities comply with company policies, customer contracts, and applicable regulations.
  • Prepare and post accounting journal entries related to billing and revenue transactions.
  • Research and resolve accounts receivable (AR) issues, including payment discrepancies, deductions, and aging balances.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contracts, accounting, and finance teams to ensure billing accuracy.
  • Reconcile billing data and support month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Maintain billing records and supporting documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Assist with process improvements to enhance billing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Generate and analyze billing, revenue, and AR reports for management.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of billing, accounts receivable, or revenue accounting experience.
  • Required: Experience working with Deltek Costpoint.
  • Strong understanding of billing processes, revenue recognition, and accounting principles.
  • Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Experience supporting government contracting or project-based billing environments.
  • Familiarity with FAR/DFARS compliance requirements.
