Job description

Phoenix Center for Rehabilitation & Pediatrics is a skilled nursing facility caring for both the geriatric and pediatric populations. We are currently looking for a Unit Clerk for our pediatric unit to help make a difference in our pediatric resident's lives.

Responsibilities as a Unit Clerk:

  • Basic administrative office functions; filing & data entry
  • Type reports & correspondences as required
  • Assist with the admissions/discharge process
  •  Schedule appointments for residents when needed
  • Initiate & coordinate transportation approvals & schedules
  • Relay vital information to Nursing Staff & Medical Team
  • Maintain medical records as per protocol
  • File medical charts as required
  • Provide unit staff with employee manuals & forms
  • Keep nursing unit supplied with forms, medical, and resident supplies
  • Place all forms in charts such as treatment records. MARs, records from hospitals, labs and X-Ray reports after review by M.D. and other relevant forms as directed by the Clinical Manage
  •  Prepare charts for new admissions using the proper forms, heading and labels
  • Answer telephone on the nursing unit cordially and professionally
  • Pick up supplies from Central Supply as the need arises during working hours.
  • Monitor usage of billable items in closet supply to ensure accurate billing as directed by DON
  • Monitor non-billable items in closet supply and order as needed. Keep closet supply clean and orderly. Label pre-charged items with residents' name and room number
