Our client has an exciting opportunity for an Software Development Manager to join our niche family-owned holding company.

This position will be responsible for managing Software Development efforts of the organization while participating in a wide array of projects to support and promote the IT function of the organization. Summary: The Software Development Manager serves as the manager for our internal IT team. They will be responsible for managing and directing the day-to-day tasks along with coordinating efforts to complete larger projects and initiatives of the business.

The Software Development Manager will work with the other internal departments for needed building of specifications of specific needs and overlapping responsibilities that may utilize outside resources (internal and external). This position will be a significant driver for our businesses by helping to leverage technology for greater efficiencies and executing key IT initiatives. Responsibilities: Manage team and developers to ensure software development meets specifications and deadlines.

Managing and monitoring the reliable delivery and performance of core systems to agreed business-as-usual standards. Managing the day-to-day prioritization and co-ordination of tasks within the IT Support team, delegating appropriately in line with staff skills and experience. Coordination with internal departments and resources where overlap occurs to accomplish objectives.

Collaborate with team members to determine best practices and requirements for software. Collaborating with stakeholders to establish schedules and milestones for projects. Serves as the technical and communications liaison to and from company partners and key office users with respect to local IT issues.

Oversight and approval of all final programs and products before formal launch. Design applications or systems, as well as evaluating existing ones to find efficiencies. Proactively seek out new and innovative solutions to deliver efficient and cost-effective systems to meet evolving business needs.

Report out to your manager and prepare an easy-to-understand report detailing milestones achieved and short-term project goals. Use a proactive approach to common challenges and by continually researching best practices in coding. Ensure software security by developing programs to actively monitor the sharing of private information.

Troubleshoot coding problems quickly and efficiently. Conduct research into new technologies, techniques, and approaches to computing to better fit the organization. Configure and maintain Magento to work with business intelligence, order management, accounting systems, fulfillment, and any other business need.

Coach and mentor members of the IT Team. Knowledge of end-to-end web design and development, web interface, front-end web development process, standards, and design constraints, as well as back-end development, technologies, and server-side scripting languages (PHP, ASP, ASP.net) Experience with coding and best practices with modern SQL, PHP, CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript (jQuery) including mobile/responsive design. Qualifications: 5+ years of experience designing and implementing software applications

Experience working on large-scale software projects. Microsoft Dynamics ERP experience preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of web applications, cybersecurity, and open-source technologies.

Strong collaboration and communication skills. Strong listening skills to capture needed requirements from internal customers. Experience overseeing customized development of processes for multiple projects simultaneously.

Professional experience analyzing code for weaknesses and errors and overseeing plans to improve them. Experience designing secure software systems based upon industry-specific specifications. Ability to develop, implement and assess performance metrics.

Positive attitude towards Group initiatives and developments, championing a "can-do" attitude.
