POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Manager 1 is responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of mechanical systems projects, including installation, commissioning, turnover, and client satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and technical skills to manage multiple projects and ensure alignment with client expectations.

Classification: Full-Time, Exempt

Reports To: Director of Project Management

Supervises: Project Engineers, Field Technicians

Department: Engineering - Projects

Travel Required: Varies by project, typically 20 - 30%

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interpret and utilize CAD drawings for high-end material handling systems.
  • Manage vendors and subcontractors, ensuring timely delivery and performance.
  • Plan and schedule projects using Microsoft Project.
  • Monitor and control project costs and budgets.
  • Supervise on-site project activities and serve as liaison between company, client, and vendors.
  • Oversee multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Ensure successful project turnover and client satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline required; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in automation systems, project engineering, or related technical fields.
  • Cost estimating experience is desirable.

Capabilities

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn automation systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project and basic project tracking tools.
  • Ability to manage assigned tasks and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and industry education.
