A registrar is an individual in an office or organization who is in charge of keeping a register of information or official records. The two main registrar job categories are patient/medical registrar and university registrar. A patient registrar typically works in a hospital, emergency department, or medical clinic and their duties include registering patients into the system, going over forms with patients, taking payments, and collecting health history and demographic information. University registrars are responsible for registering students for university admission and classes, maintaining student records, and responding to student inquiries regarding their qualifications for graduating.
