Description
Position Summary:
The Implementation Specialist is responsible for providing quality service to new clients onboarding with Checkmate. This individual will contact clients to obtain necessary information to set up and execute their first payroll run, configure the account for Time and Labor Management and HRIS as necessary, and ensure accuracy of all information within our systems. The Implementation Specialist will also assist each new client in running their first few payrolls prior to transitioning the new client account to a Client Account Manager.
This position requires effective communication, both orally and in writing, with a diversified client base. This position requires efficiency and flexibility in performing detailed tasks in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions, changing priorities, and multiple deadlines.
This position requires complete discretion and adherence to established data security policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collect and review new client paperwork for completeness and accuracy
  • Contact clients with questions and to review implementation timeline
  • Input client and employee data into payroll, time and labor management and HRIS systems
  • Load all YTD payroll data where applicable to ensure accurate W2's at Year End
  • Verify Tax ID numbers, withholdings and deposit requirements; enroll clients with new tax registrations when applicable
  • Ensure accurate first processing for new clients; audit billing, reports, system calculations, etc.
  • Arrange with Sales to deliver first payroll to new clients, review reports, etc.
  • Assist new clients with web training
  • Maintain all systems being utilized and ensure proper updates are completed
  • Troubleshoot and resolve both system and client issues
  • Other duties completed as needed

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
  • Associate's degree (A.A) , college or technical school, or a Certified Payroll Professional designation, and two years or more of payroll related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office programs is required and experience working with SaaS technology is a plus. , data entry and office equipment (i.e. telephone, head set, 10-key or calculator, PC, FAX machine, photo copier).
  • Solid understanding of payroll and payroll tax laws.
  • Knowledge of payroll software or ability to learn and utilize a number of different software applications.
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Proven facility in customer service, and problem resolution.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical, research oriented mind set.
  • Maturity in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proficient mathematical skills and precise data entry skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and maintain an effective time schedule.
  • Excellent organizational, planning and prioritization skills.
