WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Nymbus is a remote-first company. Occasional travel may be required for client engagements, team planning sessions, or project activities. Working hours primarily align with the Eastern Time Zone; candidates located in the Eastern or Central time zones are preferred.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Core Implementations Consultant plays a key role in delivering complex client implementations with a focus on Core banking systems. This individual is responsible for leading and coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure smooth, high-quality deployments that meet client and business objectives. This role will be part of core banking conversions , working with all stakeholders at a financial institution to ensure a smooth transition to the Nymbus core.
The ideal candidate combines project management discipline, deep core banking expertise, and strong client relationship management skills. This role requires an individual who can guide clients through intricate system conversions, data migrations, GL setups, accounting workflows, and integrations, while driving consistency and excellence in delivery. This individual must have experience with all aspects of a core system's back office and front office functionality, including accounting operations, lending processes and financial controls.
The Core Implementations Consultant will also contribute to developing and improving Nymbus' implementation standards, helping evolve best practices for scalable, compliant, and repeatable success.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implementation Leadership
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of Core banking implementations, including planning, execution, and post-go-live support.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams, including internal stakeholders, clients, and third-party vendors, to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Translate client requirements into actionable project plans that balance structure with flexibility.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients throughout the implementation lifecycle, ensuring transparency, alignment, and satisfaction.
  • Facilitate and participate in key project meetings, including kickoffs, status updates, and decision reviews.
  • Manage scope, expectations, and communications with precision and professionalism.

Execution & Delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to drive complex core banking implementations from planning through successful conversion and go-live, maintaining ownership of milestones, dependencies, risks, and deliverables.
  • Track project progress through detailed schedules, reports, and dashboards; identify and mitigate risks proactively.
  • Oversee critical deliverables such as data migration, testing, configuration, and deployment.

Governance & Documentation
  • Strong commitment to documenting implementation processes, procedures, decisions, and best practices in a clear, structured, and repeatable manner.
  • Support audit readiness and compliance by ensuring consistent documentation practices.

Continuous Improvement
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to enhance implementation tools, templates, and processes.
  • Share lessons learned and contribute to the continuous evolution of the Nymbus implementation playbook.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing technology or banking implementation projects, including at least 2+ years focused on core banking conversions or migrations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using AI-assisted tools such as Claude, Kiro, or comparable platforms to accelerate and improve implementation work.
  • Deep understanding of banking operations, financial systems, accounting, general ledger, lending processes and core banking technologies.
  • Experience with a financial institution back office processes and functions.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, with a focus on outcomes and client success.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving fintech environment with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
