Job description

POSITION TITLE: Finance Implementation Consultant I

Supervised by: Financial Implementation Lead (Direct), Sr. Manager, Implementation Services (Indirect)

Supervises: N/A

FLSA Status: Full-time, Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY. The Finance Implementation Consultant I (FIC) is responsible for contributing to the design and implementation of software solutions for healthcare clients, specifically focusing on the migration of financial data from legacy systems to DataArk. This includes handling data from Hospital Patient Accounting Systems, Physician Patient Accounting Systems, Electronic Document Management Systems, Audit Data, and 837/835 Conversion Data. The FIC will collaborate with an internal project team, which may include another Finance Implementation Consultant, a Project Manager, and a Data Modeler. This role involves direct interaction with client project teams and third-party vendors and requires travel to client sites

JOB DUTIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS. A qualified individual must be able to perform the essential functions of the job as listed, with or without accommodation. (An Asterisk (*) Identifies an Essential Function)

Under the direction of the Finance Implementation Manger, the IC is responsible for

  1. Under the direction of the Finance Implementation Lead, the IC is responsible for:
    1. Requirements gathering, workflow analysis, gap analysis, solution design, software configuration, and related documentation.*
    2. Participate in project scope and discovery:
      1. Document the client’s current system requirements and workflows.
      2. Demonstrate DataArk functionality and its ability to meet future client requirements.
      3. Identify gaps between client requirements and current software functionality.
      4. Propose workflows to address gaps without requiring new development.
    3. Conduct initial high-level validation and establish sign-off points for chain of custody
  1. As a member of the IC Team, assists in managing client expectations by balancing individual client needs with overall Implementation Team/company goals.
    1. Assist other Implementation consultants and participate in project pre-kickoff and kickoff sessions with the PMO and client project team.
    2. Lead or contribute to design and discovery sessions:
    3. Complete gap analysis, solution design, and related documentation.
    4. Identify and escalate key project issues or risks that may impact costs or timelines.
    5. Communicate client feedback to the Project Manager for integration into project plans and milestones.
    6. Partner with the client project team to develop and finalize project scope and sign-off documents.
    7. Participate in pass-off meetings between the Project Manager and Data Modeler.
    8. Coordinate with extractors to complete initial data mapping between legacy systems and DataArk.
    9. Collaborate with the Data Modeler to validate data as it is loaded.
    10. Perform internal validation tasks, including system configuration checks, issue documentation, and resolution.
    11. Allocate 90% of available time to billable client initiatives and ensure accurate time tracking.
  2. Internal Collaboration and Client Training:
    1. The FIC will foster a collaborative environment for internal project teams and ensure alignment on client/project expectations:
      1. Partner with the Data Modeler to resolve data load and validation issues.
      2. Provide client training and develop related materials using a train-the-trainer approach.
      3. Collaborate with internal and external technical teams as needed.
      4. Contribute to project status meetings and provide updates.
      5. Support client go-lives and provide post-go-live support for 30 days.
      6. Participate in post-go-live “Lessons Learned” meetings.
      7. Complete project tasks on time and within budgeted hours.
      8. Communicate project status to Project Management and internal leadership using established tools and processes.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Preferred: Associate’s degree in healthcare, Business, Accounting, IT, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in the Healthcare Revenue Cycle or Finance field (in addition to the degree).
  • Working knowledge of revenue cycle systems and finance, particularly as it relates to functions performed within a traditional hospital or medical provider office.
  • Experience with the implementation and/or support of financial data conversions or interfaces.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional project team members.
  • Prior experience presenting information in a public forum, including training sessions for client team members.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience working with external clients and third-party vendors.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Software Implementation Project deliverables.
  • Proven ability to maintain detailed documentation for project activities, decisions, and outcomes.
  • Strong organizational and meeting facilitation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.).

Supervisory Responsibility. None.

Work Environment. Employees may work from our corporate headquarters or work from home. Employees may at times be required to travel to headquarters for meetings or company events. Remote workers will be provided with a company laptop and are responsible for maintaining access to high-speed internet.

Physical Demands. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods of time, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work. This is a full-time position, and the hours of work and days are typically Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel. Incumbent may be asked to travel to client sites from time to time.

Work Authorization. In compliance with Federal employment laws, MediQuant will verify the identity and employment authorization of each person hired. MediQuant participates in the Federal E-Verify program.

Security Clearance. Must be able to pass all security clearances mandated by various government contracts as well as client hospital/healthcare security requirements. Any employee working on government projects will be required to successfully pass a government background check and receive a Common Access Card (CAC). Additionally, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen and will be subject to a Public Trust security background investigation and must meet requirements to obtain a Department of Defense (DOD) network account.
